Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University [SIU]. Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is the compulsory common entrance test required for admission to the Symbiosis Undergraduate Institutes of SIEC Deemed University. With the SET score, nominees can apply for the undergraduate programs (i.e Symbiosis Degree Programs in IT, Management (BBA), Law, Design & Health Sciences) of any Symbiosis institutes.

SET 2012 Eligibility Criteria

For BA LLB/ BBA LLB (5 Years): Candidate should clear 12th (10+2) in any stream or its equivalent with at least 50 %.

Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting for results are also eligible to apply subjected to their passing it in the same attempt and should not be placed in compartment.

For BCA/ BBA (IT) (3 Years): BCA - XII standard examination pass from Science stream or government diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)

BBA (IT) - XII standard examination pass from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)

For BBA (3 Years):12th pass from any branch with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who have passed in compartments are not eligible for admission.

For BSc (MT) (3 Years): 12^th Pass with any two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry & Microbiology or equivalent as decided by competent authority.

SET 2012 Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for the test through online modes. In order to apply for the test, just log on to the official website and follow the instructions. The candidate should send a sum of Rs. 1400/- as application fee for the course. The payment can be made by cash, Bank DD, Credit card or through internet banking.

SET test paper for Symbiosis Institute of Design is separate. While registering online, in the field ‘Programs Applying For 'tick ‘Design ' for SID and ‘ General ' for all other Institutes.

SET 2012 Exam Pattern

The SET paper is conducted for five subjects. They are

Health Science
Law
Engineering
Design
General

The examination duration is 2.30 min. It conducts objective type question. Each question has the four option as per answer have the paper is conducted in two session for five question papers. Morning session set papers are for law, Engineering, Health Sciences and afternoon session for general and design for five question paper. There is no negative marking system for wrong answer.

There are 5 exam patterns according for the courses namely Health sciences, Engineering, Law, General and Design. For engineering the questions will be asked from subjects like Physics, chemistry and mathematics. The total number of questions asked will be 100 questions each carrying 2 marks per questions. For general the total number of questions asked in the examination will be 150 questions each carrying 1 mark per question asked from the topics like Logical & Analytical reasoning, Quantitative analysis, General Awareness and General English.

For paper law the total number of questions asked in the examination will be 150 questions each carrying 1 mark per question asked from the topics like Reading comprehension, legal reasoning, Analytical reasoning and Logical reasoning. For paper Health Science the questions will be asked from subjects like Physics, chemistry and biology. The total number of questions asked will be 100 questions each carrying 2 marks per questions. For paper Design the total number of questions asked in the examination will be 150 questions each carrying 1 mark per question asked from the topics Design aptitude and English.
