The Punjab School Education Board came into existence in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. Functions of the Board are to conduct of public examination at school level. Presently the Board conducts public examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary Level. To prescribe the curriculum, courses of studies and textbooks for school education. To make efforts to bring quality improvement in school education. To act as an advisory body to the state Government regarding School Education.

PSEB 2011 Examinations

Punjab School Education Board conducts the public Examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary level. The following Examination are conducted by the Board

The Middle Standard Examination will be conducted at the school level.

Semester System is introduced in class X & XII by the Board to bring about qualitative improvement in school education. This is in continuation with the Semester system introduced at school level in class IX & XI . Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is introduced along with Semester system.

PSEB 2011 Examination Pattern

The board conducts semester wise examination pattern for class X and XII. Maximum Marks in Semester I is 40 and Semester II is 60. Time duration is 2 hours.

Senior Secondary Semester I Exam Pattern

Theory paper is for 40 marks and CCE is for 20 marks. Totally 60 marks
