Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad Admission Test 2012
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) is a management education institute and was started in 1991. MICA has set a precedent as the first residential academic institution in the country and perhaps in the Asia-Pacific region wholly dedicated to meeting the needs of the integrated marketing communications industry. MICA complements the role that management education plays in modernizing and professionalizing communications-driven businesses.
The single, most important aspect that makes MICA stand apart from the other management schools in the country is the strength and design of its curriculum. The courses are structured and taught with the intention of creating communications management specialists who are able to understand the multiple requirements of business, specifically of those organizations that are communications-driven in realizing their business strategy and effectiveness.
The objectives of MICAT is to develop innovative professionals in the practice, development and management of communications to serve the needs of the industry and society through education, research and advocacy.
MICAT 2012 Eligibility Criteria
1 Admission to the PGDM(C) programme candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree with not less than 50% marks or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
2 Candidates appearing for final examinations in 2011 are also eligible to apply.
3 Students who demonstrate aptitude for expressing, assessing, or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted.
MICAT 2012 Application Procedure
Candidates can obtain the application forms from The Admission Office, MICA on cash payment of Rs. 1750/- or by sending a demand draft of Rs. 1750/- in favor of "MICA" payable at Ahmedabad, with one self addressed stamped (Rs. 20/-) envelope of the size 12" X 10".
MICAT 2012 Selection Procedure
The selection process for the PGDM (C) involves two steps:
Stage - I
MICA Admissions Test (MICAT)
The MICAT is designed to assess analytical ability, divergent thinking, written communication skills and general awareness about the Communications industry.
Stage - II
Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI)
Selection of candidates will be based on the MICAT score , shortlisted candidates are then called for Group Exercises and Personal Interviews in March-April, 2011.
MICAT will be held in February-March, 2011 at the following centres:

MICAT 2012 Exam Pattern
The MICAT 2012 test is to evaluating the candidates on the basis of the following areas,
- Analytical Ability
- Divergent Thinking
- Written Communication Skills
- General Awareness about The Communications Industry
The duration of the test is 1.30 hrs which will test the candidate’s communication skills. There is also group exercise and personal interview to check the candidate’s verbal skills and his thinking style. There is no syllabus as such.
