Institute of Rural Management(IRMA)
Institute of Rural Management was established in the year 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board to provide management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organizations in India.
IRMA is founded with the belief, borne out by Dr.Kurien’s work in the dairy co-operatives which revolutionized the dairy industry in the country, that the key for effective rural development is professional management. Professionalizing the management of rural organizations calls for matching the specific but unmet needs of the sector with the formal techniques and skills of management professionals. Linking the two are the ‘rural managers’ prepared by IRMA through its two-years diploma (PRM) in rural management.
IRMA Entrance Exam 2011Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should be a graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having not less than 50%(45% for SC/ST/PwD) aggregate marks at the graduation level.
The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution.
Those who are in the final year and who expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before June 06, 2011 are also eligible to apply.
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for PRM.
There is no management quota for admission to PRM at IRMA.
IRMA Entrance Exam 2011 Application Procedure
Apply online and pay through payment gateway.Take a printout of SBI challan available in IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBI by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. This unique ID number is to be used to apply online through IRMA website.
Printed application material (prospectus, application forms, etc.) may be obtained from Admissions office, IRMA, Anand – 388001 on payment of full fees. Prospectus and sample question papers will be sent to the candidates opting for options 1 or 2 after their applications are received at IRMA. It is compulsory for all applicants to send a hard copy of application form to Admissions office, IRMA, Anand – 388001, Gujarat. Those applicants, who are using option 2, are required to attach SBI challan with the application form.

IRMA Entrance Exam 2011 Selection Procedure
A written test, common for PRM and FPRM will be conducted at 27 centers across India.
PRM participants are selected on the basis of the written test, group discussion and interview. FPRM participants are selected on the basis of the written test, interview and presentation of research proposal. Candidates with PRM qualification from IRMA applying for FPRM are exempt from the written test.

Last date for receipt of completed (by post or online) applications: 30th September 2011
Date of Written Test: 13th November 2011
GD and PI dates: January end to February second week, 2012
Final results will be announced: first week of March, 2012
IRMA Entrance Exam 2011 Test Pattern
The duration of the entrance exam will be 2 hours (120 minutes) Test paper consists of 200 objective type questions with 4 multiple answers. Test paper is divided in to following 4 sections:
• English Comprehension: 40 marks
• Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: 50 marks
• Analytical & Verbal Reasoning: 50 marks
• General Awareness: 60 marks
For each wrong answer 1/4th marks allotted to each question will be deducted.
