AIPMT Cut Off Marks

The Central Board of the Secondary Education, Delhi, would be conducting All-India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental (AIPMT) Entrance Examination. This entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for 15% merit positions for Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in directive of court and will be governed by rules and regulations specified for same by Government of India, Ministry of the Health and the Family Welfare from time to time.

The All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is the yearly college entrance examination in the India. The exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for admission to the MBBS and the BDS courses in several medical colleges around country. Presently, 15% of total seats in all medical and dental colleges run by Union of India, state governments, municipal, or the other local authorities in India, except in states of the Andhra Pradesh and the Jammu and Kashmir, are reserved for the candidates who qualify this examination. Recently reservation for the SC,ST and OBC have been undertaken in the AIPMT 2011.

AIPMT 2011 consists of the exam at two levels. AIPMT 2011First is the preliminary conducted usually on the 1st Sunday of April month. AIPMT 2011 second is mains conducted in month of the May. It is most awaited and respected exam of pre-medical exams. It is equivalent to the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2011) which is also conducted by the CBSE for entrance to engineering colleges in the India.

The pattern of the AIPMT 2011 is being changed with the effect from 2010.Due to complaints about unreliability of subjective mains, mains are to be made completely objective like prelims. More difficult and the application-level questions can be expected. Assertion-reason questions may be included as in the AIIMS 2011. OBC reservation is being the implemented as per  questionable directives of government, but only in the central institutes(i.e. not in most of  colleges covered under the AIPMT).About the 1900 MBBS and 250 odd dental seats are available through the AIPMT 2011 but ranks up to the 3200 can reasonably hope for the selection due to the overlap with other entrances. In both prelims and mains NCERT books are used to prepare the questions (almost 60% in the biology).

Preliminary Examination:   The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing the 200 objective type questions (four options with the single correct answer) from the Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and the Zoology) to be answered on specially designed machine-gradable sheet using the Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be the 3 hours.
