Working principle of thermal power plant station Definition

Thermal power station - A thermal power station is a power plant in which the prime mover is steam driven. Water is heated, turns into steam and spins a steam turbine which either drives an electrical generator or does some other work, like ship propulsion. After it passes through the turbine, the steam is condensed..

Nuclear power plant - A nuclear power plant (NPP) is a thermal power station in which the heat source is one or more nuclear reactors. Nuclear power plants are base load stations, which work best when the power output is constant (although boiling water reactors can come down to half power at night). Working principle of thermal power plant station Questions & Answers

Question : I m doing training in a coal l based thermal power plant .Whose capacity is 67.5MW .It is going to shut down for maintenance .I want to know the procedure to shut down the plant . it is my project there.

Answer : Whenever you get stuck, you should resort to RTFM (read the f..ing manual, or should that be read the fine manual). I'm pretty sure that there will be a chapter on shutdown.

Question : I need a step-by-step guide on how a fossil fuel (also kown as thermal) power station (or 'power plant') works also the cost of running and fuel would be a massive help to me. Thanks

Answer : coal prices - interesting info (USA) - please note that I don't know whether transport costs are included, how much getting rid of ash costs and how much to scrub the S02 and other crud out of the waste gasses. http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/coal/page/coalnews/coalmar.html This gives some idea of the other costs involved in the states at least: http://www.casperstartribune.net/articles/2006/01/16/news/wyoming/e0f61f142c2d611d872570f7002692dd.txt and suggests that the high quality coal from the first link is not the power utility's choice. http://www.tva.gov/power/coalart.htm gives the basic operations. gas and oil are also used as is geothermal and atomic energy - after the boiler it's pretty much the same except for waste disposal and hazard containment.

Question : Tell the location of the thermal power plants in India

Answer : search google by ministry of power of india ..
