Question : The state testing for 8th grade/history section:
How i did:
Math - perfect
Language arts - about 95%
Science - 86%
History - 46%
How much is the State testing for 8th grade History going to effect me?
Answer : In my state, 8th grade TCAP's (the state test) aren't very important, because we usually don't get the results back until first semester freshman year, when we're already about 1/4 of the way done with our classes. Instead, our SEVENTH grade TCAP scores make up 1/3 of the decision as to whether we take Honors, CP (average), or Fundamentals/Foundations in high school (Explore test and 8th grade teacher recommendations making up the other 2/3). But since you've already gotten back your state test results, maybe these will have some impact on what classes you'll be taking in high school. If you have done really well in your social studies classes this year (and in 6th and 7th grade), I wouldn't worry so much about one test... your teacher recommendations will likely have more impact than how you did on one test, because your teacher knows how hard you've been working all year and not just in one sitting.
