Answer : use the stations of the seasons like winter, spring, summer and fall or autumn. explain that there are four season throughout the year and for every season explain the different types of weather changes. you can even use different types of resources for the different types of seasons such a rain, snow, wind, etc., etc.

Answer : Steve has the right idea... different file types exist because there are different types of file... however, for media (which are obviously the only type of file!!!) it is possible to get an application which will read all of them... so approach your irk from another perspective and you'll find it is already solved.
