bba entrance exam syllabus

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a under graduate bachelor's degree in business administration. In most universities, the degree is conferred upon a student after four years of full-time study in one or more areas of business concentrations. The BBA program usually includes general business and administration courses for specific concentrations.

Bachelor of Business Administration is a new course but is gaining in popularity in many states of India. Students passing class 12 feel that it is better to acquire a professional qualification rather than do a BA. Some institutes offer placements and some students can find jobs after doing the degree. However, it is not a precursor to the MBA degree as many students believe wrongly. Bachelor degree in business administration/ business studies/ management studies is called by various names by the different universities. If you are likely to come across BBA, BBS, BMS courses, all of which are more or less the same thing.

While choosing a BBA course, it would be useful to check whether the institute offers placement facilities. A person doing a BBA course would be interested in getting a job and if he is not able to do so, the course would not be of much use. So checking the placement record of students would be important.

Entrance Exam

Generally, it is an objective-type entrance test for admission to BBA/ BBS/ BMS courses which evaluates English language, Quantitative aptitude and reasoning skills. Additional sections of "General Knowledge" and "Management and Communication Skills" are added by some colleges. The levels of questions are easy and some basic brushing up of concepts is required. In some institutes, Quantitative aptitude sections are not included.

Pattern of Entrance Exam

Preparation for BBA must necessarily consist of three parts. First, the student should start with doing the basics subjects. Go each and ever y chapter and revise what you did in Class 10.  Do the tricky questions from the question banks.

There are tests of 30-40 questions each, containing varied sums from all chapters. The trick is to manage your time and does one section test in 40 minutes, and checking your score. Initially one may get less score but gradually should target a score (after deducting - ¼ marks for each wrong answer) of above 20.

Question banks of BBA entrance exams are available and mock tests are also available. Once you are confident in section tests, start doing mock-tests. These are very same papers modeled on BBA entrance. Take yourself two hours for the entire paper and check out both sectional and full-test scores. It will give you a good idea about your preparation and where you stand. This idea is to develop speed without making too many mistakes. If the level of the exam is easy, passing it is not much of a problem.

How to prepare for the tests

The intial step is to do the basics thoroughly. Develop your vocabulary and also comprehension skills. In Maths, try to solve the logic of each question. Revise the basic formulae from class 10. Grammar must be revised. By doing a large number of questions you may get to know your strengths and weaknesses. Make a list of the tricky problem that troubles you and short cuts that you might discover.

Management tests conducted by different institutes are different. Students must be aware of this to avoid being taken by surprise. Because BBA entrance may have tricky reasoning, usually the level of difficulty is quite less in Maths and English. In Maths the questions are direct with relatively easy probelm. There are sums which might cause difficulty, but they can be easily dropped. Do the questions you are comfortable. To score well,  it would be necessary to attempt all kinds of questions.

Prepare for your BBA entrance exam well. All the Best!
