Rabindra Bharati University admissions

Rabindra Bharati University has invited Applications from eligible candidates for admission into the various courses offered by the University for the academic session 2010-11. Eligibility Criteria for those courses are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria and Fee Details

For BA (Bachelor of Arts)

In order to get admission for BA (Spl. Hons) in Rabindra Sangeet program at Rabindra Bharati University, Candidate must have passed Graduate examination in any stream (General, Professional, Performing Art etc.).

Fee: Rs 7000/- Per year

For M.A.in Rabindra Sangeet & Vocal Music

Candidate must have passed General (10+2+ 3)/ Hons/ Equivalent Graduate/ Post Graduate in General or Professional Course.

Fee: Rs 9000/- Per year

For M.A. in Bengali, Education, English, Environmental Studies, History, Political Science & Sanskrit

Applicant must have Passed Graduate (10+2+3) having the relevant subject of 300 marks at Graduate level.

For Education: UG/ PG with B.Ed/ Spl.B.Ed also eligible to apply. For Environmental Studies: Hons. Graduate in any subject/ Pass Graduate (10 2 3) from any discipline.

Fees: Rs. 3000/-, Edn: Rs.4000/-, Envs: Rs.6000/-

For M.A. in Geography

Candidate should be Hons. In Geography

Fees: Rs. 15000/-

For Diploma in Music

Candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary or its equivalent.

Fees: Rs. 5000/- per year

For Diploma in Tagore Literature

Candidate must have passed graduation or its equivalent examination.

Fee: Rs.3000/- per year

For PG Diploma in NGO Management

Candidate must have passed graduation or its equivalent examination.

Fee: Rs.15000/- per year

Application Details

For Admission to all Study Centers (Code 01 to 31) Application Forms along with the information bulletin will be available on payment of Rs. 120/- from September 03, 2010 from the respective Study Centres. After collecting Application Form candidates will deposit their course fee through Demand Draft in favour of D.D.E, R.B.U payable at Koklkata and submit the filled up Application Form along with DD, challan & self attested documents to the same Study Centres. After submission of the Application form candidate also collect the respective part of the challan from the Study Centre.

Application Procedure for Admission

Application forms for admission to the above mentioned courses are available from the University Sales Counters - ‘SONARTARI’ after notification in the press.

Break of Study Arts Faculty

Candidates with break of studies for more than two consecutive academic sessions would not ordinarily be eligible for admission to any of the degree, master’s degree and programs in Arts Faculty and for degree course in Visual Arts Faculty.

Fine Arts : Candidate with break of studies for not more than consecutive five years, but upper age limit for Pre-degree – 23 years, Degree – 25 years, Spl Hons / Master degree – 27 years.

Submission of Filled Application Forms

The forms, duly filled in must reach the Concerned Department (for Arts faculty) and the Admission Section for Fine Arts and Visual Arts Faculty of the University on or before the specified dates. Applications received later will not be entertained.

(Submission of application forms for admission does not imply any right to admission and selection for admission does not assure accommodation in University hostels)

Foreign Students

Candidate seeking admission from foreign countries shall be required to appear at a written test/viva-voce to be conducted by the respective departments. If selected he/she has to submit (no-objection certificate) from their country, proper visa, AIDS clearance certificate, equivalencies certificate of the qualification etc.

Publication of List of Candidates Selected For Admission

Lists of selected candidates, eligible for admission to the above mentioned courses are published in the University Notice Board. (of the concerned department/Admission section)

No individual communication will be sent to any candidate. Candidates interested in admission will be required to collect all information regarding interview/test and dates in this regard from the University Notice Board.

The list of candidates selected for interview/ written test/ admission will be treated as cancelled as soon as corresponding last dates are over.
