KVPY 2010 Entrance Exam
The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to encourage students of Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take up research careers in these areas.
The aim of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is to identify and encourage the students to strive for aptitude research. This program strives to guide the students to realise their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is developed for research and growth in the country.
KVPY Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India funded. Program of Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore) is administered by. Those studying in 1, 2, any UG students selected science / medicine program and qualification for scientific research to engineering students, is out by IISc (Bangalore), IIT (Mumbai), Bombay, and ICMR (New Delhi), respectively Two zonal centers in Kolkata together (Science Education and Research, Kolkata Indian Institute) and one in Mumbai (HBCSE, TIFR). IISc certain groups or committees, set up in which screen applications, conduct interviews at various centers, are the final selection.
DST - the nodal agency of Government Science, Bangalore Indian Institute of Planning has been given overall responsibility for organizing and monitoring the implementation of a National Advisory Committee (NAC) established. A Basic Committee and a National Scientific Committee KVPY program after watching both administrative and academic aspects.
The test pattern for KVPY entrance exams 2010 should cover subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology.
Test Pattern for SB+2
1. The question paper consists of two parts (both contain only multiple choice questions) for 100 marks. There will be four sections in Part I (each containing 20 questions) and four sections in Part II (each containing 10 questions).
2. Answer any three of the four sections in Part I, and any two of the four sections in Part II. In Part I each correct answer gets 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark will be deducted. In Part II each correct answer gets 2 marks and for each incorrect answer 0.5 markwill be deducted.
Test Pattern for SA
1.The question paper consists of two parts (Part A contains multiple choice questions and Part B contains descriptive type questions) for 100 marks. It consists of 40 questions of 1 mark each and 12 questions of 5 marks each. There will be four sections allotted for (1) Mathematics, (2) Physics, (3) Chemistry and (4) Biology. All questions are compulsory.Part 2 questions are Descriptive type in nature.
In Part - A each correct answer gets 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark will bededucted.
In Part - B each correct answer gets 5 marks. There will be no negative marking for Part – B. Part-B will be evaluated only for the top 2500 students based on the marks obtained in Part – A.

Can some one help me get the exam centre in Visakhapatanam, I have my Admission hall ticket but without the name of the centre. It is really rediculous. I am trying to contact on tel. no given in web site since last two hours continue but no responce, I must say that the whole process of doing/conducting such a reputrd exam is badly managed.
